Position Overview
A healthcare organization is seeking an experienced nursing leader to oversee inpatient Medical-Surgical and Telemetry services. This position partners closely with executive nursing leadership to support the delivery of high-quality patient care, operational excellence, staff development, and effective resource management across multiple clinical units.
The Director of Nursing maintains accountability for assigned departments on a 24/7 basis and plays a key role in advancing patient safety, clinical quality, staff competency, and regulatory compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and operational oversight for assigned inpatient nursing departments.
  • Collaborate with executive nursing leadership on strategic planning, clinical initiatives, and performance improvement efforts.
  • Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing practice standards.
  • Ensure delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered care.
  • Monitor staffing, productivity, and resource utilization to support departmental goals.
  • Foster employee engagement, professional development, and clinical competency among nursing staff.
  • Promote compliance with organizational policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
  • Serve as a mentor and professional role model for nursing personnel.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
  • Associate degree in Nursing plus a Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, or a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of progressive leadership experience in a hospital setting, such as Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse, or a comparable leadership role.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated understanding of hospital operations and patient care management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Master's degree in a healthcare-related field.
  • Additional leadership experience within acute care inpatient services.
  • Experience leading quality, patient safety, or operational improvement initiatives.
